Southern Cross Air Tour operates our magnificently restored Douglas DC3 on tours and scenic flights across Australia based from our Essendon facility. Southern Cross Air Tours is a member of the Aero Logistics Pty Ltd group of companies that operate helicopters and aeroplanes Australia wide.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from appropriately qualified and experienced Douglas DC3 First Officers for our Southern Cross Air Tours operation.
This contracting role requires a professional Douglas DC3 First Officer with a proven record in tourism, VIP charter and experience in daily operational tasks. Southern Cross Air Tours (SCAT) operate Australia wide based holiday tours up to 10 days in duration. The successful contractor will need to be available for tours running over weekends and public holidays. A demonstrated team player with a positive attitude is integral to our working environment.
Based on a contracting arrangement, this position is FIFO in nature from our Essendon base on a tour rostered basis and requires contractors to have the ability to work efficiently in the field with remote oversight.
The successful contractor would be responsible for flying on group tour operations around Australia.
These operations consist of operating as a member of the flight crew in the First Officer’s position on Australian tours and assisting with planning of aircraft tour requirements.
In this position, the successful contractor would be required to be a proactive member of the flight crew as well as, completing required flight records, participating in the Aero Logistics Safety Culture and ensuring the tasked aircraft is maintained to a clean and consistently operationally ready state.
Due to operational requirements, contractors should only apply if they meet ALL of the Essential Criteria. The Essential Criteria is unable to be substituted with other types of experience.
- Current CASA CPL(A) or Higher
- Current CASA Class 1 Medical
- Current ASIC
- 1,500 hours total flying time
- DC3 Type Rating
- Dangerous Goods Awareness Certificate
- Crew Resource Management Certificate
- Multi Crew Cooperation Certificate
- Current unrestricted drivers licence
- Must be an Australian resident
- Must be able to work weekends and public holidays
- Previous tour group experience
- Previous customer service experience
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Dangerous Goods Drivers License
